Toni Collette, Monica Bellucci, and Rob Huebel are set to star in Catherine Hardwicke’s new action-comedy feature “Mafia Mamma”.
Collette stars as an American suburban housewife with a sexist pig of a boss, a teenage son desperate to leave, and a philandering musician husband.
Her life of domestic madness abruptly changes when her estranged grandfather’s trusted consigliere Bianca (Bellucci) calls and gets her to come to Italy for his funeral.
After a bloody gunfight breaks out at the event, she learns the truth – her late grandfather ran the fiercest Mafia family in Southern Italy and his wishes are that she takes over as the new boss.
Filming will begin in Italy in late spring 2022. Debbie Jhoon and J. Michael Feldman (“AP bio”) wrote the screenplay.
