Walt Disney Animation Studios has premiered the full trailer for their 60th animated feature – the musical fantasy “Encanto”.
The story follows an extraordinary family, the Madrigals, who live hidden in the mountains of Colombia in a vibrant and magical town called Encanto.
Said magic has blessed every child in the family with a unique gift from super strength to the power to heal – every child except one, Mirabel (Stephanie Beatriz).
But when she discovers that the magic surrounding the Encanto is in danger, Mirabel decides that she, the only ordinary Madrigal, might just be her exceptional family’s last hope.
María Cecilia Botero, John Leguizamo, Angie Cepeda, Wilmer Valderrama, Diane Guererro, Jessica Darrow, Carolina Gaitán, Mauro Castillo, Adassa, Rhenzy Feliz, and Ravi Cabot-Conyers also lend their voices.
“Hamilton” creator Lin Manuel-Miranda serves as composer, while “Moana” scribe Jared Bush co-writes and co-directs this film with co-writer Castro Smith and co-director Byron Howard (“Zootopia”).
“Encanto” is set for a theatrical release on November 24th followed by a Disney+ release around Christmas.
