A reboot of the iconic sci-fi series “Quantum Leap” could be in the works according to its original star Scott Bakula.
Appearing on Bob Saget’s podcast this week, Bakula said there are “very significant conversations” going on right now regarding a reboot or revival of the series.
The series ran on NBC for five seasons from 1989-1993 and starred Bakula as Dr. Sam Beckett, a physicist who involuntarily time travels and fixes mistakes of the past by leaping into the body of others. Continuing on, Bakula says:
“I don’t know what it would be. I don’t know who would have it. The rights were a mess for years. I don’t know if they’re even sorted out now. That’s always been the biggest complication.”
Bakula, who gets asked about making another ‘Leap’ all the time, says he has had conversations over the years with creator Donald P. Bellisario about the show returning.
