Jake Gyllenhaal is set to star in a film adaptation of Robert Kirkman and Lorenzo De Felici’s graphic novel “Oblivion Song” for New Republic Pictures.
The story chronicles Nathan Cole, a man who makes daily trips to try and rescue those still living in Oblivion – an apocalyptic hellscape in Philadelphia that was lost a decade prior, along with 300,000 of its citizens.
Nine Stories will produce the film with Riva Marker and Kirkman via Skybound Entertainment. David Alpert, Bryan Furst and Sean Furst will serve as producers.
Gyllenhaal will next be seen in Michael Bay’s “Ambulance,” Antoine Fuqua’s “The Guilty” and both Barry Levinson’s “Francis and the Godfather” and the mini-series “The Son”.
