Fathom Events is teaming with LAIKA, Shout! Factory, and Park Circus for re-release screenings of animated films “Coraline” and “ParaNorman” to celebrate the 15th anniversary of LAIKA Studios. Netflix Gaming
Netflix will reportedly expand its streaming service to include video games in the next year. Former Electronic Arts and Facebook executive, Mike Verdu, has been hired to head up the project. Zola
Following its release in cinemas over the July 4th weekend, art-house smash “Zola” is racing home to VOD fast. The feature will be available to rent on-demand for $19.99 starting Friday, July 23rd – just three weeks after its theatrical debut. The film has collected $3.5 million at the box office so far. Dune
Chinese censors have approved Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi epic “Dune” for release in that market later this year. The film is presently scheduled for an October 22nd release in the U.S. and other key international territories. [Source: Variety]

Pearl
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Netflix-based Archewell Productions label is developing “Pearl,” an animated family series that centers on the adventures of a 12-year-old girl, who is inspired by a variety of influential women from history. Markle created and will executive produce with David Furnish, Carolyn Soper, Dan Cogan, and showrunner Amanda Rynda. [Source: Variety]
