In the wake of Pedro Pascal’s comments about the lack of shooting on “The Mandalorian” season three to date, a report at Collider has laid out what is happening with the various “Star Wars” series.

As confirmed, the spin-off series “The Book of Boba Fett” has wrapped filming ahead of a December premiere on the Disney+ service. That project has been filming at the same facilities that “The Mandalorian” shoots on in Los Angeles.

Their source indicates the series will also be a more closely-linked spinoff and to think of it as “The Mandalorian Season 2.5” with several characters from that show slated to appear alongside Temuera Morrison’s Boba Fett and Ming-Na Wen’s Fennec Shand.

However, the third season of “The Mandalorian” is not currently heading into production there now ‘Boba’ has wrapped because those stages are, for the moment, in use by the Obi-Wan Kenobi limited series starring Ewan McGregor.

Production on that series will take many months with “The Mandalorian” third season to move in after and begin shooting at either the end of this year or sometime early in 2022 which suggests no premiere on Disney+ until late 2022.

Another reason for the delay is leading man Pedro Pascal’s commitment to HBO’s “The Last of Us” which begins production next month and is expected to shoot well into the first half of 2022. Previously it has been reported Pascal’s commitment to that series takes priority over “The Mandalorian” and admittedly another actor could stand in for him under the suit with him providing the voice later.

Speaking of “Star Wars,” Liam Neeson appeared on Jimmy Kimmel this week to promote Netflix’s “The Ice Road” where he was asked if he would appear in the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series.

Neeson says: “I heard Ewan McGregor was going to do a series. No, I don’t think so. No, I haven’t been approached.” He then insinuated they could not afford him to be in the series, though Kimmel pointed out he could be playing coy.
