A whole bunch of trailers have been released in the last day or so. Here’s a breakdown of what’s arrived:
The Deep House
The trailer has been released for “Inside” filmmakers Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo’s new aquatic horror feature “The Deep House”.
The story follows a pair of YouTubers (James Jagger and Camille Rowe) whose dive into a remote french lake to find a sunken estate turns into a nightmare when they realise they are not alone in the house. It opens in France on June 30th.
Roadrunner
The trailer is out for “Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain,” a documentary about the famed host, writer, chef, and traveller who passed away not long ago.
Morgan Neville (“20 Feet from Stardom,” “Won’t You Be My Neighbor”) helms the film about a man who holds a mythic status among world travellers and foodies. The movie premieres on June 11th at the Tribeca Film Festival.
The Boss Baby: Family Business
Universal Pictures has released another trailer for the animated sequel “The Boss Baby: Family Business” which comes to cinemas and Peacock on July 2nd.
Belle
Studio Chizu has released a new trailer for “Belle,” the new animated feature from “Mirai” director Mamoru Hosoda. The project is dubbed a coming of age story about a high school student living in a rural town who is a world-famous singer in the virtual world. She and a mysterious creature together embark on a journey of adventures, challenges and love.
Luca
Walt Disney Studios and Pixar have released a new featurette for their coming-of-age animated feature “Luca” starring Jacob Tremblay, Jack Dylan Grazer, and Maya Rudolph.
The creative team and cast discuss building the fictional town of Portorosso and try to capture the feel of summers on the Italian Riviera. “Luca” premieres on Disney+ on June 18th.
Who Are You, Charlie Brown?
Apple TV+ has set a June 25th premiere date for the documentary special “Who Are You, Charlie Brown?” which will feature interviews with numerous celebrities and filmmakers.
Narrated by Lupita Nyong’o, the special will honor “Peanuts” creator Charles Schulz with a new animated story that follows Charlie Brown on a quest to discover himself.
Aline
Valerie Lemercier stars, directs and co-writes “Aline: The Voice Of Love,” a semi-biopic about the global rise of Quebecois singer Celine Dion. Here the lead character’s name is Aline Dieu and the story is “inspired” by the events of the “Titanic” singer’s life. “Aline” will hit the Cannes Film Festival in July ahd of a French release in November.
Bergman Island
Hot off the news of IFC Films’ U.S. acquisition of the title, the trailer has arrived for Mia Hansen-Love’s “Bergman Island” which will premiere in competition at the Cannes Film Festival.
The story follows an American filmmaking couple (Vicky Krieps, Tim Roth), retreating to the mythical island of Faro (home of the late Ingmar Bergman) for the summer in search of inspiration. Lines between reality and fiction then begin to blur and tear the couple further apart.
The God Committee
The trailer for the medical thriller “The God Committee” has arrived ahead of its July 2nd premiere in cinemas and on-demand. Kelsey Grammer, Julia Stiles, Janeane Garofalo, Dan Hedaya, and Colman Domingo star.
When a donor heart unexpectedly arrives at a New York hospital, an organ transplant committee must convene within one hour to decide which of three other patients deserves the life-saving heart.
The Year of the Everlasting Storm
Ahead of its debut at Cannes, the trailer has been released for the collaborative anthology feature “The Year of the Everlasting Storm” which is dubbed a love letter to the power of cinema.
David Lowery, Jafar Panahi, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Anthony Chen, Malik Vitthal, Laura Poitras and Dominga Sotomayor contribute their own stories with the only caveat being they deal with the past year’s events.
