Jodie Turner-Smith (“Queen & Slim,” “Without Remorse”) is in talks to join Greta Gerwig and Adam Driver in Noah Baumbach’s adaptation of the Don DeLillo novel “White Noise” for Netflix.

Driver and a Gerwig play an academic couple who must deal wit an airborne toxic event disrupting their existence and forcing them to face the threat of death together. [Source: Variety]

Glenn Close will star alongside Josh Brolin and Peter Dinklage as a pair of unlikely brothers in the “Twins”-esque comedy “Brothers” for Legendary. Story specifics are under wraps.

Four-time Emmy winner Alfre Woodard has joined Blair Underwood’s psychological thriller “Viral” which is currently shooting in New York. Joe McClean penned the feature which also stars Clint James, Brendan Burke, Erik Jensen, Samuel Garnett, Jo Twiss and Connor Paolo.

Underwood stars as a man who falls into paranoia after his wife (Jeanine Mason) goes missing. He begins to find his way out of the self-destructive cycle through his new girlfriend (Sarah Silverman). Woodard plays a psychiatrist specializing in deep trauma. [Source: Variety]

Tiffany Haddish will both produce and star as Florence ‘Flo-Jo’ Griffith Joyner in a biopic about the athlete who helped popularize track and field.

Joiner set multiple records during the 1988 Olympics, several of which have yet to be broken making her still the fastest woman in the world. A sport and style icon, she died in 1998 at the age of 38 of an epileptic seizure. [Source: Vulture]

Prisoner’s Daughter
Kate Beckinsale will star in the Catherine Hardwicke-helmed family drama “Prisoner’s Daughter” penned by Mark Bacci. Jai Khanna and Marina Grasic will produce.

The story follows a tough but proud ex-con who is struggling to find a way to reconnect with his only children. Once he begins an attempt at reconciliation, his violent past once again catches up to him. [Source: Deadline]
