NBC’s top-rated drama series “This Is Us” will come to an end with its sixth season to air during the upcoming 2021-22 broadcast season.
The time-jumping family drama from creator Dan Fogelman will close its run as expected as back in 2019 the series was renewed for seasons four through sixth and at the time it was suggested the sixth will be the last.
Fogelman doubled down on that, saying at the end of season three that his show was at its ‘midpoint’ and they never set out to do a series that could sustain a run like NBC’s various veteran procedurals.
Mandy Moore, Milo Ventimiglia, Justin Hartley and Sterling K. Brown star in the series with the final season expected to consist of around 18 episode – enough to carry it over the 100-episode threshold to secure an off-network syndication deal.
