Former “24” and “Designated Survivor” leading man Kiefer Sutherland will both star in and executive produce a currently untitled espionage drama ordered straight to series at the Paramount+ service.
The story revolves around private espionage operative James Weir (Sutherland) who is in the midst of a battle over the preservation of democracy in a world at odds with misinformation, behavioural manipulation, the surveillance state and the interests that control the extraordinary powers.
CBS Studios is backing the eight-episode drama which hails from writer-directors John Requa and Glenn Ficarra (“This Is Us”) who will executive produce alongside Charlie Gogolak (“The Sinner”), Suzan Bymel (“Designated Survivor”) and Sutherland.
The series is expected to debut on the streamer in 2022.
