Should it return for a third season, Epix’s period “Batman” prequel spin-off series “Pennyworth” could end up as an HBO Max original.
The Bruno Heller-produced UK-set period drama series follows the early days of Alfred Pennyworth and his friendship with Thomas Wayne, father of Bruce Wayne/Batman.
Discussions between the show’s owner WarnerMedia and Epix’s owner MGM are underway and would see HBO Max getting the first window to the new season ahead of an eventual airing on Epix.
HBO Max would also become the home to the first two seasons. Epix has yet to make a decision on the renewal though – the second season wrapped a month ago.
