HBO has set “Game of Thrones” series composer Ramin Djawadi to return to score the upcoming prequel spin-off series “House of the Dragon” reports Slashfilm.
Djawadi snagged back-to-back Emmy award wins for his work on the original series and marks the third key returning talent alongside original author George R. R. Martin and director turned co-showrunner Miguel Sapochnik.
The series unfolds three centuries before the events of the recently concluded fantasy drama and tells the story of House Targaryen. Paddy Considine leads the cast as the kind and decent King Viserys Targaryen who was chosen by the lords of Westeros to succeed the Old King.
Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy and Olivia Cooke co-star in the series which is expected to begin production sometime this year with a release in 2022.
