“Ramy” actress May Calamawy has scored a key role opposite Oscar Isaac in Marvel Studios’ “Moon Knight” project at the Disney+ service.
The comic character is an ex-Marine-turned-mercenary who serves as a conduit for the Egyptian moon god Khonshu. It will tackle issues of mental illness, including multiple personalities.
Calamawy’s role is unknown. Shooting aims to begin in March in Budapest with Mohamed Diab, Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead helming episodes.
