Netflix has released the trailer for the Ryan Murphy-directed feature adaptation of the Broadway musical “The Prom” which debuts on the service on December 11th.
In the story the head of the PTA at a small-town Indiana high school has banned a young female student from attending the prom with her girlfriend. A famed NYC stage couple, whose latest flop has flatlined their careers, offer to help the girl and potentially help resurrect their public images.
When their self-absorbed celebrity activism unexpectedly backfires, the foursome find their own lives upended as they rally to give Emma a night where she can truly celebrate who she is. Hulu has premiered a new trailer for Aneesh Chaganty’s horror thriller “Run,” a film that hails from the team behind “Searching” and which hits the service on November 20th. Chaganty co-wrote the screenplay with Sev Ohanian.

Netflix has released the trailer for “Dolly Parton’s Christmas on The Square,” a holiday musical spin on “A Christmas Carol” starring Christine Baranski as small-town ‘Scrooge’ and stingy property owner Regina Fuller. Fuller is visited by a rhinestone-bedazzled angel (Parton) who guides her on a musical journey of redemption. Will she evict the entire town or will her greed give way to the Christmas spirit?
Featuring fourteen original songs by Parton and directed by famed choreographer Debbie Allen, the film also stars Treat Williams, Jeanine Mason, Josh Segarra and Mary Lane Haskell. It will debut on Netflix on November 22nd.
Lionsgate has unveiled the trailer for the meta-fueled Australian comedy “The Very Excellent Mr. Dundee” in which 81-year-old Paul Hogan return to films as himself as he seeks to restore his sullied reputation and prove his legacy is more than a croc ahead of being knighted by the Queen of England. The film goes straight to digital on December 11th.
Finally today, Netflix has released the trailer for Edoardo Ponti’s “The Life Ahead” starring Sophia Loren and Ibrahima Gueye and arriving on the service on November 13th. An adaptation of Romain Gary’s novel, Loren plays Madame Rosa – a Holocaust survivor who forges a bond with a 12-year-old Senegalese immigrant boy named Momo.
