Netflix has quietly discontinued one of its most famous and long-running features – the thirty-day free trial.
A note on the company’s website has confirmed free trials are no longer available, but otherwise there’s no change to subscriptions so no contracts, cancellation fees or commitments and you can change your plan or cancel online at any time.
Many rival SVOD services have been offering one-week free trials, while others like Peacock and Quibi have offered up to 90 days. Disney+ discontinued its free trials in June.
Some Netflix programming can still be viewed without a subscription. As of July, Netflix boasts approximately 193 million subscribers.
