Gerard Butler-Led “Greenland” Sets PVOD Date

The Gerard Butler-led planet-killing comet action film “Greenland” is going the PVOD route in the U.S. following its theatrical run in two dozen international markets.

STXfilms has set a $19.99 48-hour rental price for the film which will become available in homes on December 18th. It’s expected the film will ultimately end up on HBO and HBO Max sometime late in 2021.

The push of “Greenland” to homes stems from the uncertain nature of the domestic box office currently with Regal mostly closed and key markets still shuttered. The movie made over $45 million off a $35 million production budget from its overseas run.

Morena Baccarin and Scott Glenn co-star in the film about one family’s perilous journey to their only hope for sanctuary as the world is being leveled by the comet’s fragments.
