New Trailers: Horizon, Woman, Faith, Jamie

Multiple trailers have scored a release in the last few days. Let’s take a look:

Horizon Line
Allison Williams and Alexander Dreymon star in the contained thriller “Horizon Line” from writers Josh Campbell & Matthew Stuecken (“10 Cloverfield Lane”). The pair play an ex-couple onboard a single-engine Cessna plane on a casual 99-minute flight to their friend’s tropical island wedding.

When their pilot suffers a fatal heart attack, the pair are stuck in the air with no clue how to land the plane, nothing but miles of ocean and sky in every direction, and a large storm front moving in. The film presently does not have a release date.

Promising Young Woman
Focus Features have posted the second trailer for the darkly comic thriller “Promising Young Woman” starring Carey Mulligan, Alison Brie, Connie Britton, Bo Burnham, Max Greenfield, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Molly Shannon.

Mulligan plays Cassie, a traumatized woman who uses her cunning and smarts to lead a double life taking revenge on so-called ‘nice guys’ who are actually would-be rapists. The film opens in cinemas this Christmas.

Leap of Faith
Shudder has successfully acquired the rights to director Alexandre O. Philippe’s upcoming documentary film “Leap of Faith” which will be available for streaming on November 19th.

Oscar-winning filmmaker William Friedkin deconstructs his most famous work, 1973’s “The Exorcist,” in the film which also explores the uncharted depths of the filmmaker’s eye, the nuances of his process, and the mysteries of faith and fate that have shaped his life and filmography.

Everybody’s Talking About Jamie
Next, 20th Century Studios have dropped the trailer for the film adaptation of the hit musical “Everybody’s Talking About Jamie” which arrives in cinemas February 26th and stars the likes of Max Harwood, Sarah Lancashire, Lauren Patel, Ralph Ineson, Adeel Akhtar and Richard E. Grant.

Inspired by true events, the story follows a British teenager who dreams of becoming a drag queen. He overcomes prejudice, beats the bullies and steps out of the darkness, into the spotlight. Jonathan Butterell directs.
