HBO Max Sets “West Wing” Special Date

HBO Max has announced an October 15th premiere date for Aaron Sorkin’s highly-anticipated “The West Wing” special – a taped version of a theatrical stage presentation of the “Hartsfield’s Landing” episode from the show’s third season.

Actors Rob Lowe, Dule Hill, Allison Janney, Janel Moloney, Richard Schiff, Bradley Whitford and Martin Sheen will reprise their roles from the episode, while “Hamilton” creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, former U.S. President Bill Clinton, and former First Lady Michelle Obama will appear.

There will also be musical performances from Emmy-winning composer W.G. Snuffy Walden and folk rock band The Avett Brothers who will open and close out the special.

The historic production is being organised in order to raise awareness for and support the vital mission of When We All Vote, a non-profit, nonpartisan organization founded to increase participation in every election in America.

The special comes just two weeks before the U.S. presidential election on November 3rd.
