Netflix has released a final trailer for its surprisingly trippy animated adventure musical “Over the Moon,” a modern reimagining of a classic Chinese legend.
The story follows a young girl that is told a legend about the Moon Goddess, a being that lives on the Moon waiting for her true love. To prove her existence, the young girl builds a rocket ship to launch herself into outer space and ends up on an unexpected quest and discovers a whimsical land of fantastical creatures.
Cathy Ang, Phillipa Soo, Robert G. Chiu, Ken Jeong, John Cho, Ruthie Ann Miles, Margaret Cho, Kimiko Glenn, Artt Butler, and Sandra Oh lend their voices to the project.
Animation veteran Glen Keane, who worked on classics like “The Little Mermaid” and “Beauty and the Beast” and recently won the Oscar for his animated short “Dear Basketball,” helms the film which will be released on October 23rd.
