TV Promos: Gangs, Bird, Industry, Carmen, Honor

A whole bunch of TV trailer releases today starting with AMC releasing the trailer for “The Raid” director Gareth Evans’ critically-acclaimed UK drama “Gangs of London” which will have its US debut on Thursday, October 1st exclusively on AMC+.

The series tells the story of a city being torn apart by the turbulent power struggles of the international gangs that control it and the sudden power vacuum that’s created when the head of London’s most powerful crime family is assassinated. Joe Cole, Colm Meaney and Michelle Fairley co-star.

The first three episodes will be made available and new episodes from the ten-episode season will debut weekly on Thursdays.

Showtime has released a new ‘I Am A Messenger’ teaser for the Ethan Hawke-led limited series “The Good Lord Bird”. Hawke plays abolitionist John Brown in this adaptation of James McBride’s novel which premieres on Sunday, October 4th.

The story follows Onion (Joshua Caleb Johnson), a fictional enslaved boy who becomes a member of the motley family of Brown in Kansas – a time when the state was a battleground between pro- and anti-slavery forces.

HBO has unveiled the first teaser and a November 9th premiere date for the upcoming eight-episode drama series “Industry” from first-time creators Mickey Down and Konrad Kay. The story centers on a group of young graduates in the world of London investment banking, with Myha’la Herrold as a young woman from upstate New York thrown into the fray.

Next, Netflix’s official trailer for the upcoming third season of animated action-adventure series “Carmen Sandiego” returning October 1st. Based on the celebrated educational video game series, Carmen (voiced by Gina Rodriguez) is a modern day Robin Hood traveling the globe and stealing from the sinister V.I.L.E. and giving back to its victims.

Finally Showtime has released the official trailer legal thriller miniseries “for Your Honor” starring Emmy winner Bryan Cranston as a respected New Orleans judge who must protect his son after the young man is involved in a hit-and-run that leads to a high-stakes game of lies, deceit and impossible choices.

Peter Moffat (“The Night Of”) serves as showrunner and executive producer and has written multiple episodes of the show which also stars Michael Stuhlbarg, Sofia Black-D’Elia, Carmen Ejogo, Isiah Whitlock Jr. and Hope Davis. The series launches sometime in December.
