Actor Neil Patrick Harris stopped by SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show this week to discuss several projects, during which he offered a bit of insight into his next film – the fourth installment in “The Matrix” franchise.
Harris has a small part in the film which is currently back in production in Berlin after a pause due to the coronavirus pandemic. Harris says the film is “ambitious” and features a bunch of wirework like previous entries.
However writer-director Lana Wachowski has apparently done some updating to the film’s tone and more importantly its visual style:
“I think she has a great inclusive energy and her style has shifted visually from what she had done to what she is currently doing. I’ve always wanted to be a lead in a big giant action movie with wires and stuff, and this is not bad for me, but it’s certainly tangential and fun for me to be able to play in the sandbox a little bit.”
Originally slated to open May 21st 2021, the film has been pushed back to a date of April 1st 2022.
