Jamie Foxx and producing partner Datari Turner have signed an overall deal with Sony Pictures Entertainment to develop and produce feature films for them. The first project is an untitled action thriller written by Juel Taylor and Tony Rettenmaier which Foxx is also set to star in. [Source: Variety]

La Sombra
“Ford v Ferrari” co-writer Jason Keller will make his directorial debut helming the feature film “La Sombra” (The Shadow) from an original screenplay by Keller. The film sees Puerto Rico becoming a battleground as one man takes on a powerful local gang after his brother is kidnapped. Filming begins Spring next year in Puerto Rico. [Source: Deadline]

Blackpink: Light Up the Sky
Netflix has announced that “Blackpink: Light Up the Sky,” a Caroline Suh-directed documentary feature about the K-pop group Blackpink, will premiere on the service on October 14th. The feature will follow group members Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa and Rose’s recording process, their everyday lives as K-pop stars, and their history-making performance at last year’s Coachella festival. One Night In Miami
The first clip has been released from “Watchmen” and “If Beale Street Could Talk” actor/director Regina King’s new film “One Night In Miami” which scored rave reviews out of the Venice Film Festival the other day. It is currently targeting a late 2020 release.

The film follows Muhammed Ali (then Cassius Clay), Malcolm X, Sam Cooke, and Jim Brown in a fictional meeting of the minds – unfolding over one night set against a divided country seeking its own reckoning during the civil rights movement. Kingsley Ben-Adir, Aldis Hodge, Leslie Odom Jr., and Eli Goree star.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma
A new HD remastered collection of the brutal action game series “Ninja Gaiden” is rumored to be on the way. A Hong Kong retailer was spotted with a listing for an upcoming single compliation release containing 2007’s “Ninja Gaiden Sigma,” 2009’s “Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2” and 2012’s “Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge”. The title will reportedly be available for both the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in March next year. [Source: Push Square]

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
Activision and Treyarch have released the multiplayer reveal trailer for “Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War,” one rendered entirely for the PlayStation 5 and so offering a good look at how that console will render third-party AAA titles like this one. The company’s are kicking of open beta play sessions for the title in October across four different kinds – a PS4 exclusive (Oct 8-12), an Early Access beta (Oct 8-9), an open beta (Oct 10-12) and a Crossplay beta (Oct 15-19).
