Jurassic World: Dominion
Both Sam Neill and Laura Dern have shared photos from behind the scenes of “Jurassic World: Dominion”. Neill’s photo shows the return of his character Dr. Alan Grant’s signature and iconic hat from “Jurassic Park,” while Dern show’s chairs with character names. Neill recently revealed that they were both returning to filming this week on the sixth overall ‘Jurassic’ feature which also boasts the return of Jeff Goldblum as Ian Malcolm. Nine Perfect Strangers
Regina Hall is the latest to join Hulu’s “Nine Perfect Strangers” series to join the previously cast members Melissa McCarthy, Nicole Kidman, Manny Jacinto, Luke Evans, Michael Shannon and Tiffany Boone among others.
The story is set at a boutique health-and-wellness resort that promises healing and transformation as nine stressed city dwellers try to get on a path to a better way of living. Watching over them during this ten-day retreat is the resort’s director Masha (Kidman), a woman on a mission to reinvigorate their tired minds and bodies. [Source: Variety]
Fruit Tree
Oscar winner Emma Stone and Emmy-nominated writer-director Dave McCary have launched production company Fruit Tree and have set a two-year first-look TV deal at A24. The partners intend to produce projects across scripted, documentary and unscripted formats, the first being an adaptation of Stacy Willingham’s novel “The Shadows”. [Source: Yahoo]
Boss of the Beach
Searchlight Television and Darren Aronofsky’s Protozoa Pictures have snagged the television rights to David Gauvey Herbert’s New York Magazine article “Boss of The Beach” for series development. A search is underway for a writer to pen the adaptation.
The story chronicles the hopes, dreams and scandals of the New York City lifeguard corps over the last forty years with a particular focus on the tumultuous career of Peter Stein, who has run the NYC lifeguard corps over that time. [Source: Deadline]
New Kid
Universal Pictures has acquired rights to Jerry Craft’s 2019 graphic novel “New Kid” with LeBron James’ SpringHill Entertainment on board to develop. James and Maverick Carter will produce and a writer is expected to be attached shortly. The story follows, Jordan Banks, who experiences culture shock when he enrolls at a private school.
