“John Wick” film series writer Derek Kolstad and director Chad Stahelski are re-teaming for a remake of Jeong-beom Lee’s 2010 South Korean feature “The Man From Nowhere”.
The story follows a quiet pawnshop keeper (Won Bin) with a violent past who takes on a drug-and-organ trafficking ring in hope of saving the young girl who is his only friend.
Drawing comparisons to “Leon: The Professional,” the film was critically very well received. It was also the highest grossing feature in South Korea during its year of release, pulling in $42 million.
Kolstad will write and Stahelski will produce the remake with meetings to take place shortly with directors.
