I’m Thinking of Ending Things
The first photos have been released from Charlie Kaufman’s “I’m Thinking of Ending Things,” the upcoming mystery thriller that marks the “Being John Malkovich” scribe and “Synecdoche, New York” director’s first live-action film in over a decade. The film stars Jesse Plemons, Jessie Buckley, Toni Collette and David Thewlis and debuts on Netflix on September 4th. [Source: EW]

Dirty Dancing Sequel
Actress Jennifer Grey is reportedly collaborating with Lionsgate on an untitled dance movie in which she will star and executive produce while Mikki Daughtry and Tobias Iaconis penned the script. That news has led to speculation this will be a sequel to “Dirty Dancing” that will catch up with her Frances ‘Baby’ Houseman character in the 1990s. Lionsgate holds the distribution rights to the film series, including the 2004 prequel “Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights”. [Source: Variety]

Brut Force
Former “Teen Wolf” lead Tyler Posey has signed on to star in Eve Symington’s neo-noir tale “Brut Force” which will shoot this Fall in California.

Lelia Symington plays a reporter who returns to her rural California hometown to investigate harassment of local vineyard workers, uncorking a tangled web of crime, corruption and murder behind wine country’s shiny facade. Posey plays her love interest. [Source: Deadline]

Mr. Lonely
Spyglass Media Group has won rights to adapt the thirteen-minute short horror film “Mr. Lonely” into a feature that will re-team “Meet Jimmy” director David-Jan Bronsgeest, writer Marc Bloom and producer Tim Koomen. David S. Goyer and Keith Levine will produce.

The story follows three young women who gather at a creepy cabin where they explore the mythology of Mr. Lonely, a rather evil fella. It is very atmospheric and frightening proof of concept. [Source: Deadline]

Civil
British filmmaker Tony Kaye (“American HIstory X,” “Lake of Fire”) has boarded the civil rights feature drama “Civil”. Tina Treadwell and Dru Davis are producing and shooting aims to kick off next year.

Austin Wright and Adam Knox penned the script which follows two young men from opposite sides of the racial divide in the months leading up to the movement in 1955, who discover the real meaning of equality, through the ashes of tragedy. [Source: Deadline]
