Several outlets are now reporting that a new live-action film about DC Comics character and master of the dark arts and exorcism John Constantine is in the works at Bad Robot.
The Direct (via Great Katzby) initially reported that a source told them a live-action Constantine solo film was in the works at the studio with J.J. Abrams attached as producer. Abrams is currently developing a “Justice League Dark” series for HBO Max, and the tone of this “Constantine” series is said to be line with that series.
It’s currently unclear as to who would star in the film. Keanu Reeves played him in 2005 in one film based on the “Hellblazer” comics line. More recently, actor Matt Ryan has become synonymous with the character for his work across several TV series in The CW’s ‘Arrowverse’.
