SAG-AFTRA has rescinded ‘Do Not Work’ orders issued last week to its members, allowing the Michael Bay-produced lockdown thriller “Songbird” to resume production with members of the Screen Actors Guild.
Heading into the July 4th weekend, SAG-AFTRA demanded that any members associated with the production of the movie were not allowed to attend set due to the project failing to complete a signatory process and so was not signed to any applicable SAG-AFTRA agreement. In addition, they said the production wasn’t “transparent about their safety protocols”.
The producers were ultimately able to resolve the issue with the union. Adam Mason is directing the thriller and actors on the movie are now undergoing remote training. How the project will shoot in Los Angeles isn’t clear but it has been reported that the filmmakers have screened their plans with the guilds “and they are good to go”.
