Naughty Dog’s “The Last of Us Part II” has not only been dubbed one of the best games of the generation, it has broken sales records as well.
Released last Friday June 19th, Vital Thrills reports that the title surpassed four million copies sold by the end of that weekend on Sunday June 21st. That makes it the fastest-selling PlayStation 4 exclusive title ever.
As more reviews have come in, the game’s rating on Metacritic has dropped from 96/100 to 94/100, which now puts it behind both “Uncharted 2: Among Thieves” (96/100) and “The Last of Us” (95/100) as the best PlayStation exclusive game, but ties it with “God of War” (94/100) as the best PS4 exclusive just ahead of “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” and “Persona 5” both on 93/100. User scores on various sites are more divided.
Sony Interactive Entertainment says in a statement: “Naughty Dog has created an experience that truly transcends the category with The Last of Us Part II. They have honed their craft for years and have once again set a new bar for what is possible through interactive entertainment.”
