“Scott Pilgrim” Animated Series Teased

Beloved filmmaker Edgar Wright has teased that an animated series adaptation of the “Scott Pilgrim” comics is under consideration.

Wright helmed 2010’s live-action “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” feature and says while there’s nothing official yet, discussions of the idea have been brought up with comic creator Bryan Lee O’Malley. He tells EW:

“There’s some plans – and there’s nothing official yet – but there are some plans to revisit the material in an animation way. We’ve been talking with Bryan and with Jared for a while [about]: What if we did something with the books in anime form? It’s being discussed as we speak… there’s nothing official yet.”

The film scored very good reviews but only soft box-office when it opened. As time has passed through, the project has remained a cult favorite. The comic series ran from 2004 to 2010, and consisted of six digest-sized volumes.
