J.K. Simmons has revealed he has already shot another cameo as J. Jonah Jameson for an upcoming Marvel project. Simmons revealed the news in a recent interview on Sirius XM radio.
The beloved actor starred in the role in Sam Raimi’s original “Spider-Man” trilogy and then reprised it in the current MCU universe for a cameo appearance during the final scene of “Spider-Man: Far from Home” – a pivotal moment which sets up the next feature.
In the new interview he says: “Well yeah, [I’ll be back as J. Jonah Jameson] that’s the short answer. There is a future for J. Jonah Jameson after a several-year hiatus. He showed up very briefly for those who were wise enough to stay through the credits of ‘Far from Home’… There is one more JJJ appearance in the can, and from what I’m hearing there’s a plan for yet another. So hopefully JJJ will continue now and forever.”
Simmons is most likely referring to his character making an appearance in either “Morbius” or the “Venom” sequel. It’s expected Simmons will also be back for the next “Spider-Man” film which hasn’t set a new production start yet but likely won’t film until early next year once star Tom Holland wraps “Uncharted”.
Speaking of Spidey, one person who has put their hands up for a cameo is Christopher Daniel Barnes – the voice of Spider-Man across all five seasons of the cherished “Spider-Man: The Animated Series”.
Barnes told Steven Alvarez this week that he’d be honored to appear in a “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” sequel: “That would be great. I’ve reprised the role several times in video games … so that would be great. If I could do that again, I’d be honored. I’m getting kind of old to do it, but I’d be happy to play an older Spider-Man.”
