CBS All Access Doubling Content In 2021

ViacomCBS CEO Bob Bakish has revealed to an investors conference this week some of the changes coming to CBS All Access.

The changes come as part of the service’s planned revamp it to become a “super service” in the wake of the reunification of CBS and Viacom.

The service currently boasts around 15,000 hours of content with Bakish saying they will add another 15,000 hours of on-demand TV and film content from CBS and Viacom properties like Paramount Pictures, Nickelodeon, MTV, Comedy Central, the Smithsonian Networks and Paramount Network.

The service also aims to have a “critical mass of live sports” content including PGA golf and NFL games and Sports HQ services. News services will also be a big part with CBS News, ET Live and content from around 200 local CBS TV stations.

While the service has a good position in the older audience segment, the new additions will aim to bring a lot of younger audience in. The aim is to relaunch the service sometime in 2021.
