Fincher’s “Mank” Coming In October?

David Fincher’s “Mank,” his first feature film since 2014’s “Gone Girl,” is set to arrive on Netflix sometime in October according to one of the major talents who worked on the film.

Veteran screenwriter Eric Roth, appearing on Pardon My Take (via The Film Stage), confirms that’s the month being targeted for Fincher’s black-and-white biopic of “Citizen Kane” scribe Herman J. Mankiewicz. He also says:

“It’s an incredible piece. He did a black-and-white 1930s movie. It looks like a 1930s movie and feels like one… Six people will go see it, but it’s pretty amazing.”

Fincher’s late father, Jack Fincher, penned the script for the film which stars Gary Oldman, Tom Burke, Amanda Seyfried, Lily Collins, Tom Pelphrey and Tuppence Middleton. The project, lensed by Erik Messerschmidt and scored by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, is reportedly skipping out on Fall film festivals.

Roth also revealed in the interview a biopic on The Doors manager Danny Sugerman was once in the works that he was set to script, with Fincher producing and Fred Durst directing. That project never got out of development.
