Kendrick On The Trauma Of “Twilight”

However you feel about the “Twilight” films, one might think that dubbing them a traumatic event may be overdoing it on the hyperbole.

An exception could be made in the case of actress Anna Kendrick. The “A Simple Favor” and “Pitch Perfect” star spoke with Vanity Fair recently about her career so far and talk turned towards her time working on the “Twilight” franchise.

More specifically it was about working on the first film in Portland, Oregon back in the late 2000s where she tongue-in-cheek says conditions were so horrible it was akin to a hostage situation:

“The first [‘Twilight’] we filmed in Portland, Oregon, and I just remember being so cold and miserable. And I just remember my Converse being completely soaked through and feeling like, ‘You know, this is a really great group of people and I’m sure that we would be friends at a different time, but I want to murder everyone.’ Although, it was also kind of bonding. There was something about it, like if you go through some trauma event. Like you imagine people who survive a hostage situation, and you’re kind of bonded for life.”

Kendrick is breaking ground this year. She leads the voice cast of “Trolls World Tour,” Universal’s first real PVOD title and a success story that will impact the future of cinema for some years to come. She’s also the star of “Love Life,” the biggest launch series of the HBO Max streaming service.
