Miller Talks Real Spideys In “Spider-Verse”

The most tasty bit of SPUMC to date has to be the Oscar-winning animated “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” the film scoring rave reviews from all corners as it portrayed the origin story for Miles Morales (Shameik Moore).

The feature also boasts plenty of other Spider-Man incarnations, including two versions of Peter Parker (one played by Jake Johnson, the other by Chris Pine). Turns out though there could have been a few more.

During a Spider-Verse Twitter watch-along recently, producer Chris Miller revealed that the creative team pitched an ‘ambitious’ after-credits scene to have featured the three main live-action Peter Parkers – Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.

He says: “We pitched the Sony brass an ambitious tag involving Spider-Ham, Tobey, Andrew, and Tom. They felt it was “too soon”#SpiderVerse #QuarantineWatchParty”

The wording does not rule out the possibility of the scene happening in either the confirmed sequel or a possible future film. The “Spider-Verse” sequel will not hit until October 2022.
