Jamie Lee Curtis is set to star in, direct and executive produce “How We Sleep at Night: The Sara Cunningham Story,” a Lifetime telemovie about a devout Christian mother who came to terms with her son being gay.
A passion project for Curtis, who optioned rights to Cunningham’s memoir last year, Sally Robinson will write the script and it will be distributed by Sony Pictures Television. The project joins a number of original television movies in the works for the brand.
They include another film (Lifetime’s third) about Prince Harry & Meghan Markle, the holiday movie “A Betty White Christmas” in which White plays a sassy drill sergeant of a Christmas bootcamp, the Melissa Joan Hart directed “Feliz NaviDad” about a widower (Mario Lopez) bonding with his daughter, a project with journalist Robin Roberts, and the Kelly Rowland-led sequel “Merry Liddle Christmas Wedding”.
