WarnerMedia has made it official with a May 27th launch date set for its new streaming service HBO Max in the United States. The subscription streamer will boast some 10,000 hours of content at launch and will be priced at $14.95 monthly according to ads that WarnerMedia began running this morning.
Using the tagline “Where HBO meets so much more,” the service will include all the programming from HBO; new original series; films from Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line; third-party licensed series like “Friends,” “The Big Bang Theory,” “Doctor Who,” “Rick and Morty” and “South Park”; kids programming like “Sesame Street”; and content from CNN, TNT, TBS, truTV, Turner Classic Movies, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Crunchyroll, Rooster Teeth and Looney Tunes.
HBO Now subscribers who are billed directly through HBO will get access to HBO Max at launch for no extra cost. HBO subscribers via an AT&T TV service or Charter Communications will be automatically upgraded to HBO Max.
