“Monster Hunter” Done, “Resident” Series Stalls

Constantin Film boss Martin Moszkowicz spoke with Deadline this week about how various productions at his company are progressing.

Constantin Film are behind the successful “Resident Evil” film franchise based on the video game series. With that film series having finished up, they are bringing actress Milla Jovovich back for another video game adaptation with a “Monster Hunter” film due this Fall.

In addition, they’re also developing a reboot of “Resident Evil” which is being reimagined as a more horror-centric TV series for Netflix.

This week, Moszkowicz says “Monster Hunter” has been completed and the team behind it are delivering the final completed film this week. As of now, the project is still set for a September worldwide release.

The “Resident Evil” TV series however remains in limbo. Originally slated to begin production in June, discussions are now underway with the streamer over when to re-schedule it.

Paul W.S. Anderson helms the “Monster Hunter” film which also stars Tony Jaa, Ron Perlman, T.I. Harris, Diego Boneta and Meagan Good.
