Three films opened wide on Friday last week with two of them, “Bloodshot” and “The Hunt,” both being rushed to VOD within the next few days in the wake of cinema closures. Now the third has joined them.
The faith-based title “I Still Believe,” starring Riverdale’s KJ Apa as Christian music star Jeremy Camp, will also be made available on premium VOD across all platforms from next Friday (March 27th). Like with Universal’s moved up titles “The Invisible Man,” “The Hunt” and “Emma” from tomorrow, it will be a 48-hour rental priced at $19.99.
Joe Drake, Chairman of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group says in a statement: “With theaters closed nationwide due to these unprecedented events, we want to continue to make I Still Believe available to consumers. We’re enormously proud of the movie that the Erwin Brothers created and are grateful to be able to share it with audiences for their home viewing pleasure.”
“Bloodshot” is the exception of this group as it is being made available for standard Digital HD electronic-sell-through on March 24th. Universal’s “Trolls World Tour” remains the only film set to try the new release premium VOD opening format.
