Operation Blue Eyes
“The Flash” star Grant Gustin will play infamous businessman Barry Keenan in Joe Mantegna’s indie thriller “Operation Blue Eyes”. Bradley Barth and Joseph Nasser penned the script and filming begins in May.
Set in December 1963, Keenan is a young wannabe stock tycoon who comes up with a scheme to kidnap Frank Sinatra’s son, struggling lounge singer Frank Sinatra Jr. Barry succeeds but one badly improvised move after another leads him to prison. [Source: Deadline]
Edge of Tomorrow 2
Out doing press for “A Quiet Place Part II,” actress Emily blunt says she hopes the “Edge of Tomorrow” sequel comes together but isn’t convinced that it’s going to happen any time soon. She tells Indiewire: “I think there’s an idea, that he says is great. And he says this guy came in and cracked the case. How the stars will all align for us to be able to do it. I don’t know. I hope they do.”
Y: The Last Man
Elliot Fletcher (“The Fosters,” “Shameless”) has scored a series regular opposite Ben Schnetzer in FX’s “Y: The Last Man” TV series based on the Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra comic. The story is set in a world where a cataclysmic event decimates all but one cisgender male, Yorick Brown (Schnetzer), and his pet monkey.
Fletcher will play Sam Jordan, Yorick’s resourceful and resilient best friend and enabler. His background (he grew up in poverty with absent parents), has made him resourceful and resilient. Diane Lane, Imogen Poots, Amber Tamblyn, Marin Ireland, Lashana Lynch and Juliana Canfield co-star. [Source: Bleeding Cool]
Julia
HBO Max is moving forward with a pilot order for a series inspired by the life of Julia Child and her series “The French Chef” which essentially invented food television. The show will explore the emergence of a new social institution called public television, feminism and the women’s movement, the nature of celebrity, and America’s cultural growth.
Sarah Lancashire, Tom Hollander, Brittany Bradford, Fran Kranz, Fiona Glascottas, Isabella Rossellini, Bebe Neuwirth and Jefferson Mays will all star. Daniel Goldfarb and Chris Keyser are set to executive produce with Keyser to serve as showrunner. Charles McDougall will direct and executive produce. [Source: Variety]
For Honor: Blades of Persia
The Prince of Persia is set to make his return, just not in his own video game. The famed game character will appear in the online action combat game “For Honor” for a seasonal event titled “For Honor: Blades of Persia” that will last from today through April 2nd. The Prince will serve as a power opponent with abilities such as time-slowing and teleportation.
