American Gods
Blythe Danner has signed on to star in four episodes of the third season of Starz’s “American Gods” series. Danner will play Demeter, the Greek goddess of harvest who has an unresolved romantic history with Ian McShane’s Mr. Wednesday/Odin. However the old god must attempt to break her out of a mental asylum in order to earn her assistance for the coming war. [Source: The Wrap]

Notes on Love
Netflix and Shonda Rhimes have announced “Notes on Love,” a new episodic anthology series for the streaming service to be executive produced by Rhimes. The first season will explore stories in which love and marriage meet and will examine what marriage is, what it means and how it’s changing as our society changes. The episodes will be written and directed by different creative minds, will also explore a range of genres. [Source: Netflix]

Triangle
ABC has opted not to proceed with the Mike Vogel-led sci-fi drama “Triangle” eight months after the project was ordered to pilot in January. Jon Harmon Feldman and Sonny Postiglione (“Knightfall”) serve as executive producers.

The story follows a family shipwrecked in a strange land lost in time in the middle of the Bermuda Triangle. They must band together with a group of like-minded inhabitants from throughout history to survive and somehow find a way home. [Source: Deadline]

When the Street Lights Go On
Queen Latifah, Chosen Jacobs and Tony Hale (‘Veep’) have joined the drama series “When the Street Lights Go On” on the shortform streaming service Quibi. Latifah plays a detective investigating a young girl’s murder in a suburban town, the ripple effects of which engulf everyone. Sophie Thatcher, Mark Duplass, Sam Strike, Ben Ahlers and Julia Sarah Stone co-star. [Source: The Live Feed]

68 Whiskey
Derek Theler, Beth Riesgraf and Lamont Thompson will serve as regulars on the Paramount Network dramedy series “68 Whiskey” which is set at a military base in Afghanistan. Filming is underway ahead of an early 2020 premiere.

The story follows a multicultural group of men and women deployed as Army medics at a forward operating base in Afghanistan known as the Orphanage. Sam Keeley, Gage Golightly, Cristina Rodlo, Jeremy Tardy, Nicholas Coombe, Usman Ally, Artur Benson and Aaron Glenane co-star. [Source: The Live Feed]
