“La La Land” and “First Man” filmmaker Damien Chazelle is still in production on his first Netflix series “The Eddy,” but he’s already lining up his next feature – “Babylon”.
Deadline reports Chazelle is seeking a studio to support the film which he has penned and will direct next. In fact, Emma Stone is reportedly already looking at possibly starring in the period Hollywood-set tale.
Specifics of the plot are under wraps, but Lionsgate is said to be the apparent front-runner to land the project which requires a significant budget, is dubbed a “bold auteur piece,” and would roughly aim to begin filming next year.
Chazelle’s “The Eddy” series meanwhile follows a New York jazz musician that opens a club in France and finds himself involved with relationship drama with a singer and the appearance of his estranged daughter.
Olivia Hamilton, Matt Plouffe and Marc Platt will produce.
