In an unexpected reveal, A&E’s “Live PD” is reportedly finishing out the year as the most-viewed show of 2018 on DVR, VOD and OTT platforms according to a new survey by Inscape (a Vizio subsidiary).
Inscape surveys viewing across nine million households, spanning all demographics and geographic areas, and is able to measure streaming and linear across a wider sample set than others in this field.
NFL football topped the live-viewing chart, which was dominated by sports, but “Live PD” – effectively the modern version of “Cops” – has become a mainstay for A&E who recently ordered 150 more episodes.
“This Is Us,” “The Voice,” “Jersey Shore” and “Grey’s Anatomy” all came in just behind while last year’s champ “The Walking Dead” fell by several places in all three delayed viewing categories.
