Araki, Soderbergh’s “Apocalypse” Sets A Date

Acclaimed filmmaker Gregg Araki (“Mysterious Skin,” “The Doom Generation,” “Splendor”) is coming to television with the new Starz comedy series “Now Apocalypse” which premieres March 10th on the premium cable network.

The surreal, coming-of-age comedy series follows Ulysses and his friends Carly, Ford, and Severine, who are on various quests pursuing love, sex, and fame in Los Angeles.

Ulysses grows increasingly troubled as foreboding premonitory dreams make him wonder – is some kind of dark and monstrous conspiracy going on, or is he just smoking too much weed?

Avan Jogia, Tyler Posey, Kellia Berglund, Beau Mirchoff, and Roxane Mesquida co-star. Araki and Karley Sciortino co-wrote the scripts while Steven Soderbergh and his “Magic Mike XXL” director Gregory Jacobs are also executive producers.

The first of the ten half-hour episodes will immediately follow the season two premiere of “American Gods,” and the first key art can be seen below.
