One of the most memorable moments of the 2013 video game reboot of the “Tomb Raider” franchise was a scene around halfway through where Lara Croft is caught up in some rapids, is thrown into the wreckage of a cargo plane atop a waterfall, falls out of it with a parachute and careens through a forest of tall pine trees before crash landing.
The upcoming film reboot opening next month is basing itself primarily on the storyline of that 2013 game and the trailers have hinted at a fairly faithful recreation of the aforementioned scene. Now a new extended TV spot has been unveiled with the first minute or so being a clip showing off that sequence.
Check out the TV spot below along with the scene from the original game for comparison. Alicia Vikander plays the new Lara Croft in this take which also stars Walton Goggins, Dominic West and Daniel Wu. The new “Tomb Raider” opens March 16th.
