Over thirty years ago, Arnold Schwarzenegger became a household name with his action fantasy film “Conan the Barbarian”. Sometime in the near future, he’ll be returning to the role and out doing charity event appearances in the UK this week, the actor indicated the film is pretty close to happening.
Speaking with The ArnoldFans, he updated the project’s status and suggests the title has been changed as well – ditching “The Legend of Conan” for something more in keeping with the rest of the series:
“Conan the Conqueror, where I’m sitting on the throne for years and years – decades… and then all of the sudden, the time comes when they want to overthrow me. So that story WILL be told and that movie WILL be done. Yes, as a matter of fact, it (the movie) has been written and we are now looking for directors so this is a serious drive (now for Conan).”
At last report, the script wasn’t yet finished but the film was aiming to begin production last spring, obviously that didn’t happen and there has been some obvious re-writes since.
