NBC and Sony Pictures TV are reportedly currently developing a series based on Image Comics’ “Witchblade” property according to THR with the project scoring a script commitment.
In the series, San Francisco homicide detective Sara Pezzini is on the hunt for an elusive serial killer – until one day the bracelet she has worn her entire life gives her supernatural insight into a crime she’s trying to solve.
Her bracelet is the Witchblade, an amulet that has been worn by remarkable women throughout history, and Sara is next in line.
“The Vampire Diaries” producer Caroline Dries will write the pilot script and serve as an executive producer alongside Brian Young, Marc Silvestri, Matt Hawkins, Julie Weitz, Carol Mendelsohn, Rick Jacobs and Dave Alpert.
This would mark a second TV take on the property following the 2001 version starring Yancy Butler.
