While Jack Ryan is author Tom Clancy’s most famous character, the other most well-known one from his books is that of John Clark – a man you could call Ryan’s darker half in terms of his methods and execution.
Clark is a CIA operative who isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty and led two of Clancy’s novels, “Without Remorse” and “Rainbow Six,” along with popping up in several Jack Ryan ones. Willem Dafoe and Liev Schrieber have both played the character onscreen before.
Now, Michael B. Jordan takes on the role in a new film adaptation of ‘Remorse’ which serves as an origin story for how John Clark came to work for the CIA. A young Navy SEAL, Clark goes on the path to avenge his wife’s murder only to find himself inside a larger conspiracy.
“Sicario: Day of the Soldado” director Stefano Sollima and writer Taylor Sheridan re-team for this adaptation which also stars Jamie Bell, Jodie Turner-Scott, Luke Mitchell, Todd Lasance and Jacob Scipio. Today, Jordan has teased the film with a brief video on Instagram showing the first footage – albeit projected on his face.
“Without Remorse” opens September 18th 2020.
