“John Wick” creator Derek Kolstad has joined the writing team onboard the upcoming “Falcon & Winter Soldier” limited series being produced by Marvel Studios for the Disney+ streaming service.
Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan reprise their big-screen roles as Sam Wilson aka Falcon and Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier, respectively, in the series which will be set after the events of ‘Endgame’.
Emily VanCamp and Daniel Bruhl are also in talks to reprise their roles as Sharon Carter and Helmut Zemo, respectively. Kari Skogland will direct the six-part miniseries which is eyeing an August 2020 premiere and is expected to be the first of several Marvel limited series for the service – the others being “WandaVision,” “Loki” and a Hawkeye one.
Kolstad penned the script for this year’s “John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum,” recently sold the pitch “Booker” to Sony Pictures, is currently writing the film adaptation of the “Just Cause” video game series for Constantin, and is attached to work on Hulu’s new “3 Days of the Condor”-inspired TV series spin on the “Hitman” franchise.
