Benedict Cumberbatch and Jake Gyllenhaal are being courted to star in “Call Me By Your Name” and “A Bigger Splash” helmer Luca Guadagnino’s next project.
The untitled thriller is being penned by “Locke” and “Eastern Promises” scribe Steven Knight and financed by Studiocanal with filming aiming to begin early next year.
Set in an exotic locale, the story centers on two old friends, one a business titan and the other a journalist. There is also a strong female lead role.
Guadagnino, Adam Ackland, Riva Marker and Ron Halpern will produce. Guadagnino is currently at work on a remake of Dario Argento’s classic “Suspiria”.
