High Octane Pictures’ new low-budget indie horror film “Clowntergeist” does pretty much what it says on the tin – it deals with ghost clowns.
Aaron Mirtes helms the story, based on his award-winning horror short “The Clown Statue”. The action follows Emma (Brittany Belland), a college student with a phobia of clowns who is forced to confront that fear when a demonic clown terrorizes her town.
The killer clown leaves balloons with the date and time his victims’ deaths, and after receiving a balloon of her own, Emma learns she has just two days to live before the clown takes her life.
No word on when the film will score a release, it previously screened at AFI Fest back in November, but the sales trailer includes the original alternate title (“Fear Itself”) the film boasted on its Kickstarter page.
